  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, granulated sugar, and yeast. Let sit until foamy (about 5 minutes).
  2. Mix in melted butter, flour, and salt; knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  3. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled.
  4. Roll out dough on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thick; spread softened butter over it.
  5. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar evenly; roll tightly into a log and slice into equal pieces.
  6. Place in a greased baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly before drizzling with icing made from powdered sugar mixed with milk and food coloring if desired.
