  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer six sheets of phyllo dough in the dish, brushing each with melted butter.
  3. In a bowl, mix chopped pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.
  4. Spread half of the pecan mixture over the phyllo layers and top with three more sheets of dough, brushing with butter between layers.
  5. Repeat with the remaining pecan mixture and finish with six more sheets of phyllo, cutting diamond shapes on top.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Prepare syrup by heating honey and water together; drizzle over warm baklava and let cool before serving.
