Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz fettuccine
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the fettuccine in salted boiling water until al dente (8-10 minutes). Reserve some pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque (3-4 minutes). Remove shrimp from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté garlic until fragrant (30 seconds). Stir in heavy cream and simmer until slightly thickened (2-3 minutes).
  4. Add Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, and lemon juice; mix well.
  5. Return cooked pasta and shrimp to the skillet. Toss gently to coat everything with the sauce. If needed, add reserved pasta water for consistency.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with extra Parmesan if desired.
