- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 ripe pear, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup ground almonds (almond meal)
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Powdered sugar for dusting
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- Form the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- While the dough chills, combine sliced pears with ground almonds, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick and cut rounds to fit muffin tins or tart pans.
- Place the dough into the pans and fill with the pear mixture.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
