  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix warm milk with yeast and a pinch of sugar; let stand for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Create a well; add melted butter and yeast mixture. Mix until combined.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for about an hour until doubled in size.
  5. For the filling, combine brown sugar and cinnamon with softened butter until smooth.
  6. Roll out risen dough into a rectangle (¼ inch thick), spread filling evenly, roll tightly into a log and slice into pieces.
  7. Place cut rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Mix cream cheese with powdered sugar until creamy; frost warm rolls generously before serving.
