Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • Milk (for frosting consistency)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Stir in melted butter, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt until a sticky dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled.
  5. Mix softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt for the filling.
  6. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle. Spread filling evenly and roll tightly into a log; cut into pieces.
  7. Shape each piece into bunny faces by cutting slits for ears. Place on greased baking sheets and let rise again while preheating the oven to 350°F.
  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before frosting.
