  • 1.5 lb ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 0.5 cup ketchup (divided)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a loaf pan with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, diced onion, eggs, half of the ketchup, salt, pepper, and oregano. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and transfer it to the prepared pan.
  4. Spread the remaining ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake for about 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
