  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 4 cups apples (peeled and sliced, preferably Granny Smith)

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and granulated sugar. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  3. In another bowl, toss sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  4. Press two-thirds of the crust mixture into the baking pan as a base layer. Pour apple filling evenly over this layer.
  5. Crumble remaining crust mixture over the apples. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool completely before slicing and serving.
