  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Cornstarch for dusting

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the strawberries, then set aside.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate chips and heavy cream until melted. Stir in butter until smooth; set aside.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together glutinous rice flour and sugar. Gradually add water while stirring until smooth.
  4. Pour the mixture into a heatproof dish lined with parchment paper and steam for about 25 minutes until translucent.
  5. Dust hands with cornstarch, flatten a piece of mochi dough in your palm, place a strawberry and some chocolate filling in the center, then seal and roll into a ball.
  6. Chill the mochi bombs on parchment-lined trays for at least an hour before serving.
